Healthy Eating Made Easy

As we come to the end of January and the time when a lot of people start to fall off those New Year’s “resolutions” to get fit, lose weight, or eat healthier. I am here to help those goals continue! One of the biggest things you can do is to have what I call a prep day. I do my weekly prep on Sunday, my roommate and myself figure out what we want to eat for the week and we prep it as much as we can on Sunday, even if that just knowing what is in the fridge/freezer and knowing when you will make it.   I for example cut up and made fruits ready for breakfasts and veggie stir-fry for 2 days’ worth of lunches (see photo below). You can go a step further and package everything into their respective containers for each day of the week. I do half the week because let’s face it the beginning of the week is always the hardest.

This will not only help you to save time during the week and lower some of the stresses but it can also help save some money when you go to the grocery store. If you know what you are going to make you can either buy in bulk and save that way, or just go with your list of what’s being made that week (or month) and stick to that only.

The last tip is that if you can take any kind of meat/poultry or fish you buy when you get home from the store divided it up into the portions for your family season them any way you like while it’s still defrosted then label it and pop it in the freezer so that all you have to do is in the morning put it in the fridge and when you get home from work all that’s left is to cook it and you’re done, no prep work and much thought.  Keep these thoughts in mind and sticking with healthy eating can be a breeze!

Live Healthy,
Nadia
